Foreword
It is a distinct pleasure to write the foreword for this book about A Collection of Scientific Facts and Findings. There are so few books printed about facts and findings especially with regard to Guyana. Therefore, this book will be a welcome addition to the written record of our cultural and scientific heritage.
From a scientific standpoint, a book such as this is a treasure. It highlights so many useful facts and findings of the use of the leaves, fruits, flowers, barks and roots of our native trees which have not been fully investigated to date.
Nature is replete with every resource for our survival but it is for us to find out what is there and how it can be used. It is hoped that this book will serve to stimulate this very interest and encourage experimentation and research so as to add new dimensions to our scientific knowledge for posterity.
Enjoy reading and congratulations to the Evergreen Nature Study Club for spearheading yet another useful publication.
