INTRODUCTION

Lana Enterprises Incorporated was established in July 1997 on 16 hectares (40 acres) of land at New Saint Eustatius situated 2.8km (1.75 mls.) up the left bank of the Hauraruni Creek which flows into the Demerara River. Lana lies amidst 200 hectares (500 acres) of unspoiled rain forest with a diversity of plant and animal life. Activities include farming, manufacturing of agricultural products, research and eco-tourism.

The travelling distance from Central Georgetown to Lana Enterprises Inc is 40 km (25 miles)

OBJECTIVE

To identify vegetal species in the rain forest
To study and observe some basic techniques used to earn a livelihood within the rainforest in a responsible manner.
