INTRODUCTION

The site comprises about 4 1/2 hectares (11 acres) of land. Approximately 2 hectares (5 acres) are planted with Caribbean Pine, 1 1/2 hectares (3 acres) are swamp and the rest is white sand Wallaba Forest. Like almost all the forest along the Linden Highway, it is secondary and has been cut for firewood or charcoal for well over 100 years. Along the trails different stages of tree regrowth can be seen.

The site is operated by the Guyana Forestry Commission and offers both relaxation with education in silviculture.

The travelling distance from Central Georgetown to Yarowkabra Nature Trail is 43 km (27 miles).
